The Junior Student of the Month for October was Dominic Soeprasetyo. Dominic was chosen by Ms. Bellemare, his Study Hall, Enrichment, and AP US History teacher, for his constant attempts to help the students around him. He was proud of himself for being selected and was happy to see how proud his family was as well. Being picked as the student of the month shows how “[his] peers and [his] teachers see [his] efforts.” Throughout his first two years of high school, he has improved on his time management skills and ability to stay on top of his work, which he feels helped him to be noticed for Student of the Month.
Outside of classes, Dominic is involved with Interact Club, Link Crew, Student Council, and the Summer Bridge Program. His favorite subject has always been History because he “likes learning how things started and what happened in the past.” After highschool, he plans on going to College but he isn’t quite sure what for just yet. Dominic says his role models are certain members of his family, as he likes seeing how they have succeeded not only academically but in their personal lives as well. Dominic is influenced by the quote “Fake it ‘til you make it” because “it helps to know not everything has to be perfect.” His advice to any students hoping to become a future student of the month is to just try their best!
