Finals are coming up at the beginning of June for students at WHS. Finals are the end of course tests for Honors and CP courses. The days will br running on half day schedules, starting at 7:40 and dismissal at 12:10. The tests themselves are each 2 hours long, with a 30 minute break in between each exam. The schedule for finals is:
- 6/7 – per. 8 and 7
- 6/10 – per. 6 and 5
- 6/11 – per. 4 and 3
- 6/12 – per. 2 and 1
- 6/13 – make-up day
For full-year classes, the final is worth 10% of the course grade, and for half-year classes, the final is worth 20%. Busses will be available for students who don’t have another ride, but only in the morning and at 12:10, so if students don’t have a first or second exam, they can either stay in the library or the cafe and leave/come in when the busses do. Students are allowed into the rooms within the first 15 minutes of the period, but if they show up after that, they have to organize a time on the make-up day to retake the exam. During the 30 minute break in between exams, the cafe is offering breakfast/lunch to students and an opportunity to take a break and study or ask questions to a teacher before the next exam. For seniors—depending on the teacher of the course—they can be exempt from the exam if they have a 90 or above average in the class. Seniors also have the ability to take exams before exam week, since senior grades need to be in earlier than the others. Good luck to all students taking exams!
