Watertown High School’s new Instrumental Director, Mr. Sulzicki, hopes to increase enrollment and recognition of the instrumental program to expand the band community throughout the school. Mr. Sulzicki has been teaching for 16 years, his inspiration being his high school teacher who lived in Watertown. He enjoyed his class so much that he decided to go into a Musical career; it is now such a coincidence that he’s currently teaching at WHS.
Mr. Sulzicki is adjusting very well, finding the staff, teachers, and students here to be incredibly approachable and easy to work with as the teachers are, “a really great group of people that are all striving for the same goals.” Outside of teaching, Mr. Sulzicki views himself as a “professional” repair man for anything with an engine. He says that he fixes “99% of things,” but he “may not fix them permanently.” A fun fact about him is that he played at Mohegan Sun with Country Star Keith Urban in a drum line, one of the many instruments that he can play.
