On November 16th, the girls’ volleyball team went up against some of WHS’s teachers in the gym, to play their yearly postseason game of volleyball. It was an intense game and all who played had fun however, the teachers lost to the girls 3-0. The teachers that stepped up to the challenge were Mrs. Alves, Mr. Benjamin, Mr. Malootian, Mr. Mamudi, Mr. O’Connor, Mrs. Puma, Mrs. Poliquin, Ms. Rahal, Mrs. Vallee, and Mr. Zaborowski. Some of the staff were experienced in volleyball and/or other sports in the past. For example, Ms. Rahal coached the high school junior varsity volleyball team a few years ago. Varsity player, Anesa Xhema says, “I think this game was a good experience for the players and the teachers as we both got a few rallies going and we all supported each other. Mr. O’Conner did carry it a few times, but we had lots of fun.” After the game was done, both students and teachers persisted on playing more and played on mixed teams with students and teachers.
