Winter Band Concert
On December 19th, the Watertown High School Concert Band had their first concert of the year in the auditorium. The three pieces of music they played were; Into the Storm by Robert W. Smith, Home on the Range by Randall D. Standridge and The Photo Album by Robert W. Smith. The band performed beautifully with the music director, Mr. Hahn. He has had the honor of directing and teaching the high school band for 9 years. “I like the positive energy the freshmen bring,” Hahn says, commenting on how the whole band is excited for this year.
Hahn has inspired students to change instruments this year. The individuals that have stepped up for the challenge were; Olivia Williams, Maya Gauthier, and Ava Stango. Olivia switched from flute to trombone, Maya switched from flute to oboe, and Ava has switched from clarinet to tuba. With these new instruments, it expands the sound of the band and creates a whole new sound. Next for the band is a second concert in the spring with new music written from women. Come and support them!
