WHS School Store
Watertown High School’s DECA club and marketing classes are opening a school store managed by marketing teacher and CTE department head, Mr. Campbell, which is granting students opportunities to raise money for merchandise while teaching sales techniques simultaneously. The store will be located in the main foyer across from the school library and will sell WHS apparel online as well as within the school location. Commodities ranging anywhere from clothes, water bottles, school supplies, and even stickers will be sold! The school store will be open during after school events and Mr. Campbell plans to open during study halls throughout the second half of the year. There is also an online way to access the store by visiting https://teamlocker.squadlocker.com/#/lockers/whs-school-store!
Aspiring students from all over in Watertown High helped bring the school store to life as well. DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) club consists of marketing students and encourages the development of business and leadership skills. For the DECA club, working in a school store exposes students to real life business scenarios. This club and marketing students tackled and assembled the business part of the shop. They chose a vacant location for the store and revived it. Ensuring all merchandise will be in stock and promoting their new business is how DECA managed to open the store. Graphics students helped with the designing aspect. Students Juila Hines (senior) and Talia Solla (junior) created the store banner and price lists representing the store’s signage.
The money from the purchases will help support the DECA club and be used to buy more merchandise for the store. Stop by or purchase online to help support DECA club and marketing on their journey of teaching students real life business skills!
Talia Solla is a seventeen-year-old Senior at Watertown High School. She has been an active student in tech education for her whole high school career....
