Album Review: Born To Die

Lana Del Rey’s 2012 album Born To Die was a dramatic and moving piece to listen to. On  February 18th, 2012, the album hit #2 on the Billboard 200. It has sold 13 million copies to this day. The song “Born to Die” was rated the top song of the album but I disagree. The song “Carmen” was my favorite due to the ‘evil and fake’ side of the girl portrayed in the song that everyone loves and wants to be.  The disguises and fake personality gives the girl, Carmen, a dramatic backstory and makes the song feel more realistic about the things the girl does. “Video Games” was another one of my liked songs because of the subtle kindness Lana portrays in her voice and instrumentals. Overall, I would rate it a 9.2/10. The album was a huge hit for many people around the world and is still very commonly played.
