With the first marking period of the school year already done, student of the month awards for the month of October have been given out. Senior Student Of The Month, Maggie Dassatti provides some insight as to how she got the award and what it means to her to win such a high honor. She also tells us what she plans on doing after high school.
She says that winning the award was very rewarding. For the past 4 years she’s been able to maintain her grades to the point where she’s winning awards like this. Maggie is a member of the yearbook, and she is a very good classmate to her peers. Dassatti feels that winning an award as a senior makes it even better because it closes out senior year on a high note.
An award like student of the month can really be a shock to whoever gets it. When asked if she was shocked by receiving the award she responded with, Yes, because there are a lot of people in the senior class who deserve it, and it’s even better coming from Ms. Guerrera.
When asked about what being chosen for student of the month means to her Dassatti answered it means that I can do whatever I put my mind to and if I put the work in and work hard at it then I will be successful.
During her period of time at Watertown High School, Dassatti has had a major growth as a student. When asked about how she feels she’s grown as a student Dassati said from freshman year to now I feel as if I have had a chance to grow and to make sure I get everything done on time.
Senior Year is a big year for many people, because it allows many students to think about what they want to do after they graduate,After high School Dassatti plans on going to college to look for degrees in business I Plan to go to college and plan to be in a business degree, and maybe at some point to go into marketing, and even at some point go into sports.
