Watertown High School’s Boys’ and Girls’ Cross Country teams competed in the Naugatuck Valley League Championships (NVL’s), on October 18th, at Veterans Memorial Park, and the girl’s team came out with a victory. The girl’s team placed 1st and 2nd with Ryann Walsh and Lily Khouri, making the top 12 and being All State. They advanced into the State Open at Wickham Park on October 28th, competing against other students in various districts who did well in their races too. With the ending of States, the Cross Country season comes to an end with anticipation of the Indoor Track season.

Veronica Rainone is a Junior at Watertown High School. She is in her second year writing for the school newspaper in Publishing class. She enjoys interviewing different people for her articles and writing various articles – allowing her to work well on the team. For almost 14 years, Veronica has danced as a hobby and has plans to carry the activity into a career as a Street Dance Choreographer. As it has been her second year of writing for the newspaper, she's been given the role of Writing Editor. She guides new students in composing their articles and gives them any extra help that they need.
