The Junior Student of the Month for February was Ryan Johnstone. Ryan was happily surprised to find out that he was awarded Student of the Month, because it is “a big responsibility, as not everyone gets it.” He was nominated for the Junior Student of the Month for February by Ms. O’Neill because he has shown growth outside the classroom, is an “extremely kind and compassionate person,” and always has a positive attitude and a smile on his face.
Ryan has grown since his start in high school by expanding his circle of friends, and overall being kinder to all his peers. He said he struggles with being nervous in his day-to-day life, and has worked on that problem throughout high school. Ryan strives to be kind to those around him, making sure they all feel welcome and that everyone is happy. His role models are his friends and family members, and his advice for anyone looking to be a student of the month in the future is to “do your best, do things that you love, and be nice to people!”
