On March 3rd, 25 members of our WHS Best Buddies chapter got to go to the Friendship Ball at the Aqua Turf. The Friendship Ball is a yearly event held by the CT Best Buddies Organization in which members of the different chapters get to dress up and enjoy a prom-like dance. This year’s theme was candy land, so some people had candy themed ties or other accessories. A new thing that was added this year was a 3-D Photo Booth. The highlight of the ball, according to Ms. McBride,one of the Best Buddies Advisors, was the fabulous dancing of Sebastian Joseph!

TJ is a senior here at Watertown High School. TJ has Spinal Muscular Atrophy, type 1 or SMA, and has had to overcome many obstacles in his life. Although his machines practically make him bionic, he is a typical teenager with senioritis, like everyone else.
TJ is in the honor society, is captain of the Unified Sports team, and Buddy Liason for the Best Buddies program. He enjoys being a helper in the life skills classroom as well, even if his mom is the teacher. If he had anything to say to the students here at WHS, it would be “Choose to Include!”
