This year for Veterans Day the Interact Club went to the Watertown Gazebo to honor veterans who have served or sacrificed their lives for our country. Interact raised money for every 250 dollars they raised they placed 24 flags, in total they placed 325 flags. The flags were placed to honor the (Disabled American Veterans) DAV and support their cause. These flags were displayed the week leading up to Veterans Day.
On Monday 11/11 at 11 AM officers attended the Veterans Day celebration. Representatives from different Veteran organizations in Watertown spoke at the ceremony including President Quinn Mollica who read a poem. They said the Pledge of Allegiance, sang the Star Spangled Banner, hung wreaths, and had honor guards fire a salute.
