On Wednesday, March 19, 2025, Watertown High School juniors had the opportunity to explore their college options at the Hartford College Fair, held at the Connecticut Convention Center. The field trip, which took place from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM, allowed students to connect with representatives from approximately 300 colleges and universities from across the country.
Sponsored by the National Association for College Admission Counseling, the fair provided a valuable experience for students to gather information about four-year colleges, two-year colleges, technical schools, and business programs. In addition to speaking with college representatives, students had access to workshops covering essential topics such as financial aid, NCAA eligibility, and college essay writing.
The trip provided Watertown juniors with crucial exposure to higher education opportunities, helping them take the next step in their college planning process. Students gained insight into different academic programs, admission requirements, and scholarship opportunities. They also had the chance to practice networking with college representatives, ask specific questions about majors and campus life, and gather resources to guide them in making informed decisions about their future. This experience encouraged students to think critically about their next steps after high school and consider a variety of options that best fit their goals.
