The Girls’ Soccer team is kicking off the fall season with a 2-6-1 record. This team has been working hard since July and making real progress. Compared to last year, they’ve had more possession of the ball and are learning how to keep it and play smart off of it. One of the biggest strengths this season is how well they have communicated. The team shares the main goal of winning NVL’s, while also supporting each other in reaching their individual goals. Whether it’s a win or a tough game, they always stick together and have each other’s backs.
One team captain, Genesis, brings a ton of energy and says she’s worked non-stop to be the biggest cheerleader for her teammates. She gave props to their coach, too, saying, “He isn’t something like we’ve had before,” and praised how the team keeps improving with every game. Even though some newcomers started off shy, Genesis says they’ve really grown, and it’s not easy to tell who’s been playing for years and who’s just starting. For anyone thinking about joining next year, she says, “Keep your head up high and have good intentions going into it,” because it’s 100% worth it. Being surrounded by good people while playing the sport you love is what makes this team special.
