A current conflict happening in Sudan leaves citizens injured and wishing for peace. The Sudanese war has been ongoing since April of 2023 and is escalating due to the fight over the capital city, Khartoum. Six months since this war broke out and it is still inflicting; immeasurable suffering and endangering many lives.
In Sudan the Sudanese Armed forces and Rapid Support Forces have been conflicting. The war began with attacks from the RSF on government sites. Airstrikes and gunshots had been reported all over Sudan. The main cause of this conflict was due to the disagreement of ownership over the capital city, Khartoum, which is located in between the Blue and White Nile. Current violence has greatly inflamed Sudan’s humanitarian crisis, while lowering the ability of humanitarian’s delivering life saving-aid.
While the community of Sudan struggles to coordinate a unified effort towards peace, Sudanese civilians bear the brunt of the fighting. What had started as clashes in Khartoum this April between the Sudanese forces and Rapid Support Forces, has quickly developed into a Civil War.
