Every year as spring approaches, Starbucks adds new menu items. On March 4th, Starbucks added eight new products. They added back the Iced Lavender Cream Oat Milk Matcha, Iced Lavender Oat Milk Latte, Cortado, and the Brown Sugar Oat Milk Cortado. New items they added were an Iced Cherry Chai, a new Starbucks Sunsera Blend, a Spicy Falafel Pocket, and a new Jalapeno Chicken Pocket.
The limited Iced Cherry Chai has a creamy cold foam with notes of cherry and a crunchy topping all on top of their signature chai tea. Many say this drink is very different from the other items on their menu. The new Spicy Falafel Pocket has smashed falafel, hummus, roasted red bell peppers, onions, and a spicy herb sauce wrapped inside a toasted flatbread. Not only is it vegan, but it has very high ratings. Another controversial drink they added back was the Iced Lavender oat milk Latte. This latte has their signature Blonde Espresso Roast, oat milk, ice, and subtle floral notes of lavender. This drink was extremely successful when they debuted last spring.
Overall, the Starbucks spring menu has mixed opinions. By adding these spring items in, Starbucks discontinued thirteen very popular, long running products from the menu such as the Caramel Ribbon Crunch Frappuccino and the Chocolate Cookie Crumble Frappuccino. They were not commonly purchased, complex to make and were similar to other beverages on the menu. However, despite these items leaving, the new drinks bring a unique addition to the menu.
