Football
Despite starting the season 0-3, the football team has shown real progress, especially in how they communicate on the field. With nearly 20 varsity seniors gone, many players stepped into new roles, and underclassmen have become a major asset. The team has been playing good football, making strong plays, and showing development each week. Summer Passing League helped build chemistry early, and the players are now really starting to understand concepts. The captains credit their coaches and encourage anyone interested to “just try it,” saying football builds a great high school experience.
Volleyball
The Volleyball team, now 2-7, continues to stay competitive and enjoy every match. Their focus this season is on having fun, improving communication, and qualifying for NVL’s. Every player has been pulling her weight, and the new teammates have blended in quickly and positively. The girls started practicing over the summer and have been pushing themselves since Day One. Co-Captian Lola Gaudino says if you’re thinking about joining next year, then “do it. There’s always the positives of having fun.”
Girls Soccer
The Girls’ Soccer team is kicking off the fall season with a 2-6-1 record. This team has been working hard since July and making real progress. Compared to last year, they’ve had more possession of the ball and are learning how to keep it and play smart off of it. One of the biggest strengths this season is how well they have communicated. The team shares the main goal of winning NVL’s, while also supporting each other in reaching their individual goals. Whether it’s a win or a tough game, they always stick together and have each other’s backs.
One team captain, Genesis, brings a ton of energy and says she’s worked non-stop to be the biggest cheerleader for her teammates. She gave props to their coach, too, saying, “He isn’t something like we’ve had before,” and praised how the team keeps improving with every game. Even though some newcomers started off shy, Genesis says they’ve really grown, and it’s not easy to tell who’s been playing for years and who’s just starting. For anyone thinking about joining next year, she says, “Keep your head up high and have good intentions going into it,” because it’s 100% worth it. Being surrounded by good people while playing the sport you love is what makes this team special.
Boys Soccer
The Boys Soccer team has been making waves this season with their strong bond and determination. With most of the varsity players competing together for three years, the chemistry on the field is unmatched. Their positivity, discipline, and team environment have grown, making them a force to be reckoned with. They’ve already beaten teams they didn’t expect to, and heading into the second half of the season, they feel prepared to keep that momentum going. Co-captain Gavin Lauer praised the new coaching staff, saying, “They’ve worked really hard at keeping us intact and making sure we are properly trained.”
The team has set three major goals for this season: place in the top two of the NVL, earn double-digit wins, and finish the season feeling satisfied. Their work ethic shows, as they trained year-round with indoor and outdoor practices to stay ready. Co-captain Jacob Mendello described the team’s connection as a “family-type bond,” and even highlighted how one talented freshman has already stepped up on varsity. With strong leadership, consistent practice, and trust, the team is confident about reaching its goals. To anyone interested in joining next year, Jacob says, “Don’t be worried, just go in and see. Embrace the unknown.”

Everyone on the roster is staying healthy, which has helped them keep their undefeated streak alive. The captains credit their coach as one of the biggest reasons for their success, helping them stay disciplined and focused on their goals. Spirits are always high, and the team takes pride in how well they support one another.
Their goals this season are ambitious but within reach: win the NVL and make a run at States. The team put in the work over the summer with practices that prepared them for the fall season. Newcomers have blended right in with the rest of the squad, showing that the team is not just about winning but also about building a supportive environment. With their momentum and determination, the Boys Cross Country team is looking to finish the season as strong as they started. For anyone thinking about joining next year, the captains say, “Absolutely join next year.”
Girls Cross Country
The Girls Cross Country team is off to a strong 8-1 start, showing discipline, ambition, and a clear vision for success. The team has bonded through runs, workouts, and even pasta parties the night before meets, which help build spirit and excitement. After losing 3 string seniors last year, the girls are proud of how much they’ve improved together and how the team has stepped up. With encouragement to set personal time goals and take care of their bodies, the team is determined to keep getting better. Their ultimate focus this season is on winning the NVL, and they believe they have what it takes to get there.
A big part of their success comes from their coaching staff, who remain positive while also realistic, reminding the girls they are capable of anything if they keep working hard. The team places a huge emphasis on preparation, from planning strategies to clearing their headspace before each meet. Many of the runners trained individually all summer to stay sharp for the season, showing their dedication to improvement. Newcomers have blended in easily thanks to the warm and welcoming environment the team has built.
Field Hockey
The Girls Field Hockey team has started their season strong with a 5-3-1 record, showing off their teamwork and communication on the field. Even after losing many starting seniors, the captains feel the team’s stick work has greatly improved compared to last season. Everyone has stepped into their new positions with confidence, and the return of injured players has given them even more depth. Their biggest goals are to qualify for states and make the conference tournament, and with their momentum, those goals feel within reach. Co-captain, Malia Arline, credits their three new coaches for the team’s success, saying, “they’ve been able to help in different positions, making sure each position is well trained and skilled.”
Beyond the field, the team has built a strong bond and plenty of respect for one another. They trained hard all summer, practicing multiple times a week, and also made time for team bonding through sleepovers, fundraisers, and breakfasts together. The upperclassmen have welcomed the newcomers with open arms, creating a supportive environment both on and off the field. Co-captain, Camryn Geiger, encourages anyone thinking about trying field hockey to take the chance, saying, “it’s a great idea, do it, it’s one of the best places.”
Cheerleading
The Cheerleading team has grown a lot this season, gaining many new members and improving their overall level. Co-captain, Mia Frenis, says their main goal is to “fight hard and win well,” and the team has been working hard to do just that. Their biggest asset has been their coach, who keeps them focused and organized while helping them improve skills like stunting, which has become a big strength. Freshmen and newcomers were welcomed warmly by the upperclassmen, creating a strong bond and supportive environment. For anyone thinking about joining, the team’s advice is simple. Give it a try, it might become something you really love.
Girls Swim and Dive
The Girls Swim team is off to a strong 3-1 start, and their close connection has been one of the biggest reasons for their success. Every swimmer has made noticeable improvement compared to last year, especially by achieving new personal times and taking on new events with an open mindset. Their goals for the season are to continue improving individually, rise in the ranks, and ultimately make and win the NVL. Co-captain, Emma Omeri, says their coach has been their biggest asset, explaining, “she always knows what to help us with and how to make our team the best as possible.” The team is proud of the effort and confidence shown by every swimmer, and they’ve built a culture of encouragement where everyone shows up for each other.
Preparation has been key, with practices starting three times a week in July to get the team back into rhythm before the season. The swimmers stress the importance of pushing through challenges, knowing that every hard practice or tough race is an opportunity to improve. Newcomers have adjusted well, learning the patience and discipline required for the sport while being supported by teammates and upperclassmen. The girls describe swimming as a very rewarding experience, it’s one that pushes you but pays off in strength, growth, and fun. Their advice for anyone considering joining next year is simple: go for it, because swimming is unlike any other sport and is absolutely worth it.
