On February 24, 2022, Russia launched an invasion on Ukraine where President Putin planned on demilitarizing Ukraine, eventually leading to war.

Since then, Russian air forces have destroyed 30% of Ukraine’s power supply and have caused blackouts streaming throughout the entire country. Along with this, there were cuts on the water supply in Ukraine leaving residents of the country without water. The Mayor of Kyiv stated that residents should cut back on electricity consumption.

As of October 18th 2022, the Ukrainian Prime Minister, Denys Shmyhal, plans on abolishing ties with Iran because of recent attacks from Russia who used Iran-made drones. These drones were made for what’s called “Kamikaze” which destroys the drone as well as what’s around it. In these attacks, drones were sent to destroy energy sources and ended up killing several civilians. Tahran, the capital of Iran, denied the manufacturing and distribution of these drones to Russia.

After all of the attacks Russia had imposed on Ukraine, the small country finally had an attack on Russia. The Ukrainian military had successfully attacked the Saky airbase and destroyed nine Russian fighter jets in early August. Yes, Ukraine has constructed attacks on Russia that have gone in Ukraines favor, however the attack on Saky had been the most significant.
