The Junior Student of the Month for March was Maggie Hines. She was happy as well as shocked to find out she got Student of the Month, as she “wasn’t expecting it.” Maggie was nominated for Student of the Month by Ms. Lavallee, as well as Mr. Scarzella because she utilizes her Enrichment time well to “ask questions and get help from teachers.” Being chosen as Student of the Month shows Maggie how well she does in school, and that she can ask for help whenever she needs it.
Maggie has grown throughout her time so far at the high school by becoming “a better student by managing [her] time” and balancing school with her life. Her goals in high school are to do well, so she can do well in the future. After high school, Maggie plans on going to college to get her medical degree. She is very invested in science, her favorite subject, as it peaks her interest the most out of all the other subjects. Her role model in her life is her mom because she is “always so happy.” Outside of her classes, Maggie is involved with the WHS Swim Team, Book Club, and the World Language Honor Society. Maggie’s advice for any student looking to be a future Student of the Month is to “try to ask for help when you need it. Don’t be afraid to ask questions.”
