On June 8th, the Music Department’s Chamber and Concert Choir performed their annual Spring Concert. The concert held many soloists like Daniel Viacava and Michael Bochino on piano. They also had guest performances from Mr. Bengal on guitar and Mr. Sulzicki playing the drums. The Seniors said their goodbyes by singing, “Time After Time” by Cyndi Lauper. Congratulations to Michael Bochino for winning the National School Choir Award for his hard work in Chamber Choir, Music Theory, Piano, and Unified Music! The concert was a success and thank you to those who supported the WHS Music Department!

During the recent Instrumental Concert on April 30th, many senior awards were given to 3 influential students. The Director Award was awarded to Khrystalyn Lafo! The award recognizes student leaders, high-achieving musicians, and those with excellent work ethic and attitude. The Watertown Music Excellence Award was awarded to Olivia Williams! The award recognizes a student who shows outstanding contributions through a combination of musicianship, work ethic, attitude, discipline, and commitment. The John Philip Sousa Award was awarded to Ava Stango! The award recognizes superior musicianship, outstanding dedication, dependability, loyalty, and cooperation.

The band and choir will be performing at graduation on June 19th. See you there!
