Gavin Lauer received the Senior May Student of the Month award, recognizing his hard work and outstanding academic achievement. Gavin stated that accepting this award fulfilled one of his academic goals and hopes this award embodies his strive to form strong bonds with his teachers and peers. Gavin was nominated by Mr. Cerrato for his inspiring character and academic determination. Mr. Cerrato emphasized, “His maturity level and work ethic in class show that he has a love of learning that will drive him to be successful at any endeavor.”
Gavin plans on attending Central State University to major in cyber security and also has plans to potentially pursue the career path of a state trooper. He expressed his love for leadership positions and ability to work with others will support him through his higher education and career path. In addition, when asked about his favorite high school memory, Gavin commented, “It’s not just one memory that made up my high school experience, it’s a pool of memories that gave me four years of memories that I will cherish forever.” Balancing personal leisures and academic pressure has led Gavin to being one of the four recipients for May Senior Student of the Month.
