Watertown High School held its 8th Grade Open House on November 18th, as students and families from Swift visited the school to learn what high school would be like next year. Families walked through the halls, saw different classrooms, and talked to teachers in the Williams Library. Department Coordinators were there to talk about what courses they teach. For example, Mr. Campbell, CTE Department Head, explained how he teaches Marketing and Business. Mr. Rinaldi addressed math courses, Mr. Lewis talked about English courses, and Ms. Hathaway explained the science courses.
Families also learned about the schedule and what they should expect during their first year. Clubs also had pop-up tables so the 8th graders could see what activities they could join. The event helped middle schoolers gain a better idea of Watertown High School culture. Hopefully, the incoming students will feel more prepared for the big change.
