National Art Honor Society Update

National+Art+Honor+Society+Update

The National Art Honors Society’s purpose is to promote creativity and showcase art, affecting the community in a positive way. It creates a space for artists from WHS as well as lightening the community. Despite the National Art Honors Society existing for over 40 years, it’s Watertown High School’s first year of having the program introduced to the school.

Projects that these students have done earlier this school year include sending out candy canes with messages, as well as painting the school windows for the school play, Alice in Wonderland. As the year continued, students painted on the windows again, this time for the school’s musical, Beauty & the Beast. Other projects were presented in the art show to admire the art projects that were created. Next year, students from the Art Honors Society will be attempting to enter the scholastic art competition.

If a student wants to be a part of the National Art Honors Society, they have to take two years of art classes, they need to be recommended for it, they need to have at least a 90 average, and they need to be invited in with a strong interest in being technically better/stronger.
