Jordan Arnold from the graduating class of 2020 is featured in our WHS alumni spotlight. Jordan Arnold is currently the Manager of Creative for Boston College Football, where he works with photography, videography, and social media content around the team. Even though he now works in sports media, that was not always his plan. Going into college, he originally wanted to study engineering and eventually run his own company. That changed during his time at Watertown High School, where he got involved in yearbook photography and broadcast video. He later created his own social media page to post sports content and even started his own LLC while still in high school. After graduating, he pursued a degree in Engineering and Business, while also gaining experience through an internship and job. He worked for the UConn Athletics Creative Content Program, which helped lead him to his current role at just 24 years old.
Jordan says one of the biggest things he’s learned is that it’s normal to not have everything figured out at 17 or 18. His advice to students is to take risks, try new things, and not let one mistake stop you. He also says connections and relationships are very important, and students should make the most of their time in high school because it goes by fast. Some key advice he shares is: “try, fail, learn, and try again, avoid having an ego, respect others, and stay true to yourself. He believes success comes from working hard, learning from challenges, and committing to what you enjoy doing.”
