On Thursday, December 11th, the Watertown High School Music Department had their annual winter concert in the auditorium. Participating in the concert were the Jazz Band, String Orchestra, Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, Concert Choir, and Chamber Choir. Alongside these classes were their teachers, Mrs. Poliquin, directing the choirs, while Mr. Sulzicki directed the instrumental portion of the concert.
The Jazz Band performed two songs for the night, Bye Bye Blackbird and Mercy, Mercy, Mercy. In addition, the String Orchestra performed Someday and Dark Journey. Likewise, the Concert Band performed Dark Ride and Colliding Visions, while the Wind Ensemble performed Nettleton and Propulsion. They also performed the song Tantrum together. The Concert Choir performed Three Madrigals and Where the Light Begins, and the Chamber Choir performed How Lovely are the Messengers, The Road Home, and Lunar Lullaby. Both choirs combined to perform the song I Sing Because I’m Happy. Finally, each group combined and performed a final song together, Pacem Noel, to complete the night.
