As the holiday season starts, Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts’ have re-launched their new festive menus. Both stores brought back their seasonal drinks and snacks in early November, and students have already been stopping in before and after school to try them. Starbucks has been getting plenty of attention online this year because of the new Bear cups and Hello Kitty designs, which many people are collecting and showing off on social media. Their holiday menu includes returning favorites such as Peppermint Mocha and Caramel Brulée Latte, along with new pick Iced Gingerbread Oatmilk Chai. Dunkin’ also launched its holiday lineup nationwide, including the Peppermint Mocha Signature Latte and new Cookie Butter Cold Brew, plus seasonal bakery items.
There hasn’t been a consensus on the favorite drink, but some clear student favorites have started to stand out. Personally, my go-to is the Iced Sugar Cookie Latte from Starbucks given it’s perfect holiday flavor while keeping things simple. It has a sweet and buttery taste, reminiscent of a sugar cookie with notes of vanilla and almond. A lot of other students have been loving the Cookie Butter Cold Foam from Dunkin’ and the Iced Gingerbread Chai from Starbucks. Compared to past years, both Starbucks and Dunkin’ kept the classic holiday flavors people look forward to, while adding new options to keep things interesting. This year’s menus definitely live up to the hype.
