This January, WHS Link Crew will host Coco & Cramming, a freshmen-only study event designed to help freshmen prepare for their first high school midterms. Since midterms count for 10% of the year grade, it’s important that freshmen take them seriously and start building strong study habits early. Link Leaders will meet students in subject-based classrooms and use study guides given by teachers to help freshmen focus on what they need most.
This event highlights that Link Crew is here not just for fun and welcoming activities, but also for academic support and students’ overall well-being. For many freshmen, this is their first time taking midterms, so hearing from upperclassmen about what exams look like and what teachers expect can make a huge difference. Group studying also allows for more perspectives, better discussions, and stronger understanding, and students can move between rooms to get help in multiple subjects.
In addition, there’s free cocoa and cookies, making studying a little more fun. The best way to prepare is simply to show up and stay open-minded. Coco & Cramming is designed to help every freshman feel ready, confident, and supported for midterms and beyond.
