The 2023 Fall sports season was filled with action, but this winter we can only expect more. The Varsity Girls Basketball Team has a hopeful outlook on their season, looking to make it further than their second round fall to Wolcott last year during the state playoffs. Some players to look out for are Casey O’Toole, Ariellys Velez, and Kobee Young. Boys basketball is trying to bounce back after an unfortunate turn out last season going 2-18. With new found motivation, a few players to look out for are Dylan Fekete, Justin Davis, and Dean Lemay. Last year the Watertown/Pomperaug Ice Hockey Team finished 8th in the division II standings going 10-10-3. Last year’s success has only driven the team more; some players to look out for are AJ Delcarmine, Brendan Maton, and Adam Howell. The indoor track team is looking to have a great year starring sprinter Eli Crofford, distance runner Owen Cipriano, and all round athlete Andrew Barfi. The Watertown Boys Swim and Dive team is looking better than ever featuring Alban Kadiu, Cole De Mond, and Anthony Mascolo. Last but not least, Watertown Unified sports is off to a hot start. The kids love it and would love it if more people came out to the games to support them. The peers are a part of a unified gym class and are asked to participate in 2 games a season.
