The last home game for our seniors of the season was on November seventh at Watertown High School. Our varsity football team players had their last home game against Ansonia; the score was 40-0. Lucas Marcil, a senior captain, was asked both about how he felt about his last home game and his last season, “There were good and bad sides, losing wasn’t fun.” Lucas added that he is sad that this game was his last. He then commented on his experience as a captain, “I feel like we won against the team we should have, St.Paul, but overall we could have done better.” He continued that being a captain was definitely hard since some responsibilities included teaching all of the new kids on the team. Yet, it was one of the best aspects. Lucas commented that he enjoyed being a role model to those who had little to no experience playing football. Overall he will cherish, “ making memories and spending time with my teammates.”
