Album Review: Madvillainy

The album “Madvillainy” by MF DOOM was released on March 23rd, 2004, and is known to be in the top 20 best rap albums of all time according to the “Rolling Stone.” Upon first listening, I didn’t really think it was as good as people say because a lot of the songs didn’t have a pull factor to them and a lot of them sounded similar to the previous song. However halfway through, the album did get better because the songs started having better beats and catchy samples. Overall, I would rate the album a 7/10, because in my opinion there were songs that lacked a good beat and didn’t catch me as something I would have added to my playlist.

My top 3 favorite songs off the album that caught my attention were “Figaro”, “Accordion”, and “Fancy Clown” because of their different beats and samples. Honorable song mentions that are also good are “Raid” and “All Caps.” “All Caps” is the most popular song off of “MadVillainy” because of its high ratings and top rated songs on MF DOOM’s Spotify profile.
