Eric Hernandez took the Junior November student of the month spotlight. Eric says being nominated as Student of the Month took him by surprise. He feels appreciated when his hard work is noticed and believes that his effort doesn’t go to waste. To him, being chosen means his dedication pays off.
Eric has grown by learning to focus on one thing at a time and working step by step. He hasn’t faced many challenges in school and stays positive. His goals in high school are to keep good grades and improve in football. After high school, he plans to go to college to study sports medicine. His favorite subject is science, especially Anatomy and Physiology.
He looks up to his Dad because of how much of an influence Jesus has made through him. Eric says “From who he was to who he is today it means so much to me. Jesus is the biggest influence in my life because of the sole factor of who he is and what he’s done. The way he changes my future every day making a steady path for me is why I do what I do and make me, me.”
Eric is involved with Unified Sports and Best Buddies. A quote that inspires him is, “Be happy with what you have while you’re working for what you want.” His advice to others to inspire those to earn student of the month; “Be kind even when people aren’t around.’’
