Amira Mashni was nominated for the October Junior Student of the Month for Watertown High School. When Amira was asked how she became Student of the Month, she said, “I always ask teachers if they need help.” She also tries her best to stay true to herself and what she believes in. Amira was nominated by Ms. Saucier, her CTE teacher. Ms. Saucier shared, “Amira has gone above and beyond for yearbook class. She is always asking what else she can do and always offering a helping hand to her classmates and myself.”
Even though balancing schoolwork and personal life can be challenging for some, Amira explained, “I don’t procrastinate anything, I always try to get my work done.” Some of her favorite aspects of WHS include “The community, everyone is close to each other.” Her teacher also added, “She makes sure everyone in the class feels included and always has a smile on her face.”
Amira contributes to the Watertown community by participating in a lot of community service. Amira also plays soccer as a striker and enjoys spending time with her family by playing games and doing karaoke, which reflects her active and positive personality both inside and outside of school. When asked what advice she has for students aiming to become Student of the Month, she shared, “Be yourself, be involved, always ask for help.”
